Which links earn us money
Links to retailers such as Amazon and manufacturer shops are usually affiliate links. Links to research, university extension publications and government guidance never are.
We do not mark every link individually, so treat any link to a shop as a possible affiliate link.
How this affects what we write
Product pages are research based. We read manufacturer specifications, compare features and look at owner reports. Where we have not used a machine ourselves, we say so on the page.
A product can earn a recommendation and still get a list of drawbacks. If a cheaper machine is the better buy for most people, that is what the page says, even when it pays less.
